My wise husband once shared with me that rules are simply guidelines, that some people choose to follow others not. You have many choices. Choose according to your intent, your vision, your heart. Create according to your spirit. Then allow the two to meet in the world.

To understand the way the world of fashion photography works, is not too difficult to uncover. Research, get out there, "get your hands dirty" ( so to speak), and talk to lots and lots of people.

At first we are overwhelmed, and scared and wonder whether we have what it takes. But you do. There are tried and true methods for "getting your hands dirty". Assist a photographer, do an internship, volunteer, read magazines, talk to people, attend events, etc... You can find out how it has worked for others. And learn, apply what feels right. That does not mean that is how it has to work for you.

You can create your own way. An artist I admire, Faith Ringghold told me once that if "they don't let you play in their game, create your own game."

Visualize your success. Affirm it - create a positive image and statement "I am a successful fashion photographer bringing beauty to the world". Say it in your own words, daily over and over, visual it over and over. It will happen, if that is what you want.

And then you may change what you want, and that is fine too. We evolve, we let go, we relax - than we reinvent, recreate and replenish. All is good.

Hey giss!... lo único que te puedo decir es que no eres la única que se siente así! Yo estoy en eso, intentando dejar la ignorancia de lado... Lo importante es seguir intentando no?
