Bio

Giselle was born in Caracas, Venezuela ( 6 September 1983). She showed her first signs of interest for photography at age 6 when her parents gave her a 110 film camera. At age 16, she grabbed her mother’s Canon AE-1 of the ‘76, and in 2000 attended her first photography course. From then on her obsession for photography began, and self taught herself with Ansel Adam’s books. Giselle has her bachelor’s degree in Business, postgraduate studies in Art History, and a Masters Degree in Digital Photography from the School of Visual Arts. Having an international background, Giselle has lived in Venezuela, Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland, France, and today in the United States, which influences the way she sees life. In France she met her husband Fernando, with whom she creates her work. Inspired by her own life, in her current project “La Femenina” Giselle is translating the world she sees into fantastical and surreal images.
