For the past few days I’ve been researching the best ways to sell print photographs through the webpage, and stumbled upon two main plugins: Woocommerce Photography, and Sell Media.
Woocommerce Photography costs $80, it lets you add products to your webpage with an add to cart button to sell. Sell Media is free and seems to do the exact same thing. The catch for both is that they both need an additional extension to add the option of selling actual prints at different sizes with a dropdown menu.
The costs for the extensions for both plugins is as follows:
⁃ Woocommerce Photography offers “Add-ons” for another $50, both costs for Woocommerce Photography are one time fees and include 1 year support (it can be renewed).
⁃ Sell Media offers “Reprints” and the basic package starts at $8.25 per month.
Doing the math, at the end of the year Woocommerce Photography comes in at $130, and Sell Media at $99 plus the following year’s monthly payments. So from a cost perspective thinking at least two years ahead, I would go with Woocommerce Photography.
I am still doing more research in order to make an educated decision of which plugin would work best to start making some dough out of my webpage and photography. At least this gives me a starting point.
Hope it helps you get some insight too!
To be continued… ^_^
